First appointment query? please advise x

Hi all, my first appointment at the hospital is tomorrow, will i have bloods taken then? According to the dr, im 7 1/2 weeks now. Just wanna prepare myself as i hate needles x

Plus my first pregancy, 9 years ago, I cant go off as i didnt find out til i was 22 weeks.

Also i have a defined bump already but the dr claims you show with your second, is this true?

Nicki Hickman Hi Sarah, congratulations, exciting times! I think it depends on where you are/which midwife and/or hospital you see but from memory my midwife did take bloods and also a urine sample. This ‘booking in’ appointment is usually when you confirm whether or not you want to go ahead with the antenatal tests and screening and discuss your medical history. This guide might help you more:

And ref the bump second time around, mine definitely showed a lot earlier than number 1 and think that's quite common! Are you going to find out what you're having or keep it a surprise?

Sarah Ross Thanks Nicki for the response, i did have bloods taken, i was finw tho, ha im petrified of them lol. My appointment was fine and have my scan on the 28th sept. Lookin fwd to it. I want to find out but my partner doesnt and as its his firsy i suppose ill have to respect his wishes, dont wanna spoil it for him.
As for showing, im really round already n only 8weeks nxt tuesday ha im gonna be huge ha x

Hey Sarah, glad to hear it all went well. Let us know how you get on the 28th......have to tried the Chinese baby gender predictor? I'm always curious to see if it predicts right or not, got it wrong for my two! Hope you're not feeling too rough x
