In an interview with the UK edition of Elle magazine, actress Kate Hudson describes her feelings on motherhood and her relationship with boyfriend Matthew Bellamy and explains why her party days are behind her.
The 33 year old said: “I'm a lot less a rock chick and a lot more about being a good mother, a good partner. I'm part of a family.”
The actress had only been dating the musician for a short time when she discovered she was expecting her second child. Ryder, her nine-year-old son, was born during her marriage to rocker Chris Robertson.
She said: “And two months later I was pregnant. [I was shocked], but I also thought, ‘This is going to be interesting’. I knew it would take a strong man to deal with it. You know that with a relationship, things can go either way when you have a child.”
Their son Bingham will soon turn two, and the actress need not have been concerned about a new baby adversely affecting her relationship with Bellamy as the couple have now been together for three years.
As for marriage, Hudson admits it is important, but the pair do not have any plans to tie the knot in the near future.
