The duchess surprises many by designing a modest nursery for the future heir.
Prince William and Princess Kate are still keeping mum about their official due date, but the royal couple did open up a bit about the nursery they’re decorating for their baby. An inside source reported that the baby’s nursery is already prepared and that “it’s humble”. The report surprised some who expected that the royal infant would be living luxuriously from birth.
The modest size of the nursery may be due to the couple’s temporary living arrangements. Rather than taking up residence in their 20-room apartment at Kensington Palace, Will and Kate are currently living in the two-bedroom Nottingham Cottage on the palace grounds while their apartment undergoes renovations. Since the renovations will be unfinished by the time the baby is born, the couple decided to keep the baby’s first nursery simple.
As to the sex of the baby, Will and Kate have yet to disclose whether they’re having a boy or a girl. However, royal watchers got another clue thanks to a recent purchase by the Duchess. According to the Daily Mail, Kate bought a £1,200 high-end Bugaboo stroller in light blue, which could be a clue that the soon-to-be born baby is a boy.
