The actress Drew Barrymore has given birth to her second daughter, just 19 months after her first.
Drew Barrymore, best remembered for her role in E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial and her brief appearance in the first Scream movie, already has a daughter with her husband, Will Kopelman, named Olivia. Ms Barrymore, 39, gave birth on April 22nd, with her husband at her side. They have named the new addition to the family Frankie.
Ms Barrymore threw a party on the preceding Saturday to herald the imminent birth, which was attended by some of Hollywood’s most prominent female actresses, including Gwyneth Paltrow, Reese Witherspoon and Cameron Diaz.
Ms Barrymore has spoken of how her priorities have changed since becoming a mother. She is quoted as saying "It used to be work first and now it's life first. So even though I'm doing a lot, there's a lot of things that have slowed down."
She said that she is trying to only take on jobs where she can work from home or which can be fitted around her new lifestyle. She also admitted that motherhood has increased her anxiety levels, stating that she now worries most about making her children safe and secure.
