To shower or not to shower?!…
Baby Showers are one of those Americanisms that have somehow become a thing here in the UK like Halloween and Black Friday. As much as I hate to admit – They are probably here to stay.
I have only been to one and it was not how I would usually have chosen to spend my Saturday eve and I swore I would never have one of my own. My sister has somehow twisted my arm and it is booked for 18th Feb.
The more I thought about it the more I came around to the idea of seeing all of my friends and family before I have the baby and I am not going to say no to the odd free gift. I just hope there are no games! I do NOT want to put a nappy on a teddy or pin a dummy on a baby.
I was talking to my sister about making a list of potential things that we need that we can ask people for but we are not sure if it is the done thing to do? Surely if someone is getting you a gift you should not dictate what they get for you. On the other hand the idea of a shower if to get you the essentials to get you going so maybe a list is a good idea so you don’t duplicate and end up with something useful?!
How I have felt: Good for the most part – although these Braxton Hicks contractions are starting to annoy me!
My worries: Do I ask for specific things for the baby shower??
